As a contemporary abstract painter, Laurie Huff enjoys exploring

diverse art media and processes. Laurie works with acrylic, mixed media, and oil and cold wax medium on a multitude of surfaces. Long walks near the lake with her camera and Havanese dog, Watson, as well as a love of travel, serve as endless inspiration for her artwork.

She is currently active with several north Texas area artist

groups and has studied with numerous master artists.

Laurie obtained a BA in Fine Arts at the University of

Texas Permian Basin and a Masters of Education at Texas A&M Commerce. She enjoyed teaching art for ten years, and spent another ten years serving art and theatre teachers as a Fine Arts Facilitator.

Laurie's work has been accepted into many juried shows and has received numerous awards.  Recently retired from a 20 year career in

public fine arts education, she is now free to take a deep dive

into her intuitive art practice. Laurie's dream is to place artwork

in spaces that bring joy to her collectors and create a connection

to their experiences, memories, or a sense of time or place.
